Inspection service for Minimum Energy Efficiency Requirements of Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021

The residential act is changing, and the new items are required to meet minimum standards.

Energy Compliance Consultants offer assessments, reports, and Scorecard certificates for energy per the Victorian Residential Efficiency Scorecard (VRES). This is a government-approved home energy rating tool used by assessors to rate existing homes’ energy performance.

An energy-efficient (minimum 3 star for split system & 3.8 star energy rating for ducted) fixed cooler in good working order is to be installed in or has an outlet in the main living area.
Ceiling insulation with a minimum R-value of 5.0 is required. Installation is to occur within 30 days after an electrician has completed a pre-insulation electrical safety checklist for the ceiling space.
Draughtproofing is required, including all external doors, windows, and wall vents.
Water heaters supplying hot water to kitchen, laundry & bathroom facilities must be energy efficient (ie electric heat pump or solar).
A 4-star showerhead is to be installed.
