Proposed Multi-unit Development @ Darwin, NT – Daylight Modelling

Daylight modelling

Our added value

Subject to the provided conditions and design for the proposed building, a daylighting simulation is performed to assess compliance with the requirements of NCC Vol 1.0 Section F, Part F4 (Light and Ventilation), FP4.1 (Natural lighting).
Sufficient openings must be provided and distributed in a building, appropriate to the function or use of that part of the building so that natural light, when available, provides an average daylight factor of not less than 2%.
Although light court achieved sufficient daylight, due to the perpendicular orientation of bedrooms to the light court, some rooms had restricted access to daylight. Finally, solutions were proposed to the client which contained several design amendments.
