Through VURB pathway, construction cost was reduced by keeping existing walls from new works (insulation). This was done by decreasing the average U-value from U2.5 to U1.6 and by adding 20% more insulation to the walls, 35% more insulation to the ceilings and proposed shading devices.

Adding 50mm rigid insulation to the slab and filling ceiling and wall void spaces with insulation, we managed to increase overall window U-values from U2.0 to U3.8 and significantly save construction costs.
